JoAnn B. Sheley                                                                                      

JoAnn B. Sheley, 86, of Goshen, died at her home early Wednesday morning, September 5, 2007.

She was born in Detroit, Michigan, on July 20, 1921, to Merl and Anna (Eaton) Hannah.  She married Howard Sheley on August 3, 1946 in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.  He died October 1, 1966.

A retired librarian, Mrs. Sheley worked at both the Elkhart Public Library and the Goshen Public Library.

She was a past member of the Bay View Reading Club, Business and Professional Women, and Presbyterian Women.

She is survived by a daughter, Judith (David) Whitesell of Crown Point, Indiana; a son, Rodney (Kathy) Sheley of Goshen; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; two sisters, Dorothy and Helen Hannah; and a brother, Alvin Hannah.

Friends will be received 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, September 6, at the funeral home.

A 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 7, 2007, funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Presbyterian Women or to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
