Anna "Leota" Burkholder                                                                                        Flowers?

Anna “Leota” Burkholder, 85, of Goshen, died early Sunday morning, March 9, 2008, at The Courtyard of Goshen where she had been a patient just one week following back surgery.  She had been in failing health the past number of years.

She was born in Shipshewana on April 12, 1922, to Sam T. and Katie (Eash) Eash.  She married Levi Burkholder on October 18, 1952 at the Griner Mennonite Church.  He survives.

A homemaker and a lifetime resident of the area, Mrs. Burkholder was a member of the Pleasant Grove Conservative Mennonite Church.  She worked alongside her husband in the Shadey Lane Nut Shop.

She is survived by her husband, Levi; two sons, Wayne J. (Claris) Burkholder and Dean C. (Rosann) Burkholder, both of Goshen; three grandchildren, Charlotte, Eric and Ashley; and great-granddaughter, Kylie.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Amy Troyer and Elnora Eash and three brothers, Joe, Leon, and Calvin Eash.

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, and 9:30-10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 12, at the Pleasant Grove Conservative Mennonite Church, Millersburg.

A 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2008, funeral service will be conducted at the Pleasant Grove Conservative Mennonite Church.  Rev. Randall Riegsecker, Rev. Roy Rodes and Rev. Cleo Orendorf of the Pleasant Grove Conservative Mennonite Church Ministry will officiate.

Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Millersburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Grove Mission Fund.
